Philanthropy

We believe every child has a fundamental right to play, and we strive to leverage our corporate resources to make that happen. Through our partnerships, sponsorships and community support, we are helping organizations overcome barriers to play and providing unforgettable memories for kids in need. We treat play as if the future depends on it. Because it does.

Mattel Children's Foundation

Mattel Children's Foundation was created more than 40 years ago with a vision of making a difference in the lives of children in need around the world. Since then, the Foundation has supported thousands of organizations and millions of children.
We know play is one of the most powerful ways we can affect meaningful change in kids’ lives. Whether it's on the playground, at home or at one of our many volunteer events, Mattel is committed to ensuring all children have the opportunity to play.
  • Create Access to Play

We create meaningful play experiences for children in need. We do this through our toy donations, play kits, partnerships with leading organizations and annual Mattel volunteer events.

  • Encourage Education and Well-being

Our premier Speedometry program encourages STEAM development and our partnership with UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital remains critical to advancing research for improving children’s health.
  • Prepare the Next Generation

Through the Barbie Dream Gap Project and the Ruth Handler Mentorship program, we are creating a pathway for girls and young professionals.
  • Strengthen Communities

We actively support communities around the world through employee volunteerism, gifts and grants, and disaster relief efforts.
